Air ducts and Soil Filtration

Air ducts and vents should be cleaned at least once a year and filters changed regularly.  You may have gone to a friends home and maybe in your own home and witnessed black lines on the carpet along the walls.  This is called soil filtration.  What’s actually happening here is that the dirt from your ducts is being dispensed through your vents and accumulating on your carpet along the walls of your home.  We go into many homes and the customers complain about the dirt along the walls.  Unfortunately a regular carpet cleaning just wont do the trick.  At times removing soil filtration can cost up to 5$ a wall.  So to prevent this we suggest a yearly air duct cleaning and regulary changing of the filters.  Now lets say you are a victim of soil filtration and wouldn’t mind putting in a little elbow grease…well here is a trick that can work.  First Schedule a carpet cleaning 1to 2 days out.  then purchase a lite degreaser (that can be used on carpets) and a scrub brush.  Spray the soiled areas and get to scrubbing.  When finished use a wet sponge to wipe the excess away and a Wet-Vac to suck up the water.  When we get there to clean the carpets, our regular routine should take care of the rest.  But please do not over saturate the carpet with the degreaser! the less soap that is left in your carpet the better. Actually, you don’t want any soap left in your carpet at all.
